The Return of the Living Dead *Special 25th Anniversary Screening*
Dir: Dan O'Bannon
91 min / USA / 1985

Brains! Brains Brains! Call More Paramedics! And don't miss this special 25th anniversary screening of the zombie comedy that started it all, projected on the big screen in glorious 35mm!

Just when you thought it was safe to go back to the cemetery, those brain-eating zombies are back and hungry for more tasty mortals. A fiendish mix of outrageous humor and heart-stopping terror, The Return of the Living Dead is a veritable smorgasbord of fun filled with skin-crawling jolts, eye-popping visuals and relentless surprise! On his first day on the job at an army surplus store, poor Freddy unwittingly releases nerve gas from a secret U.S. military canister, unleashing an unbelievable terror. The gas re-animates a corps of corpses, who arise from their graves with a ravenous hunger for human brains! And luckily for those carnivorous cadavers, there is a group of partying teens nearby, just waiting to be eaten!

Introduced by cult film writer, and programming director of Revelation Perth International Film Festival, Jack Sargeant.

Evil in the Time of Heroes
Dir: Yorgos Noussias
88 min / GRC / 2009
Australian Premiere

Get ready for a non-stop, gore and laugh filled, zombie ride from Greece, starring Billy Zane!

Three days ago everything changed. An ancient force transformed people into bloodthirsty zombies.
It was not for the first time though. 2800 years ago, in Ancient Greece the situation was the same. Then, they made it and the Evil was defeated. Will our heroes manage to do the same today? Will they relive The Time Of Heroes?

This film delivers zombie fun and frights with a unique Greek sensibility! If you love to devour zombie comedies like Shaun of the Dead and Zombieland you'll be drooling in demented delight at Evil in the Time of Heroes.

Saturday, October 30, 11:00pm
Dir: Rob Grant
95 min / CAN / 2009
Australian Premiere

Yesterday follows the lives of complete strangers in the middle of a zombie outbreak. As each person struggles to survive we find their actions begin to affect the lives of others around the dying city. With the culmination of a stand off in the local grocery store, the remaining survivors decide to band together and flee to the wilderness. Once camp is built however, they find that the living dead are not the only danger as they begin to turn on one another in a struggle for power and control.

Yesterday is simply one of the best low budget zombie films of the last decade. This is likely to be your only chance to see the film in Australia, so if you're a zombie aficionado you can not afford to miss this screening!
